Most chin augmentation procedures utilize the latest facial implants. These implants are meant to add to the natural shape of your jaw making it appear natural and in correct proportion to the rest of your face and jaw line.

The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.

Chin Augmentation Recuperation and Healing

A Chin Augmentation procedure is a relatively minor procedure. Following chin augmentation surgery, swelling is common around the lower face. Swelling should disappear after a few weeks at most.

A chin augmentation is considered to be a cosmetic procedure by many insurance companies, and as such, is not covered under the policy. If your insurance company considers this treatment to be cosmetic, you will be responsible for covering the cost in full. It is suggested that you check with your insurance company about their policies regarding cosmetic procedures.
