thigh/buttock lift
Irregularities in the skin surface of the thighs or buttocks can lead to dissatisfaction in many individuals and a desire for contouring and tightness in this region of the body. At The Freeman Center for Plastic Surgery we can help you deal with some of your skin and contouring frustrations and will do everything possible to help you achieve the body and self-confidence you have always wanted.Thigh/Buttock Lift Facts
The majority of thigh-buttock lift procedures are conducted in an outpatient setting with the patient under general anesthesia. The details of the surgery will vary greatly from patient to patient based on his or her aesthetic goals, personal desires, and body shape. Our surgeons will work with you to determine an optimal placement for your incision that will suit your clothing and personal wishes. To perform a thigh lift, a short incision is made that extends from the anterior part of the thigh/groin crease to the buttock crease. If desired, a lateral or anterior thigh lift can be performed as separate procedures. A lift of the entire thigh and buttock is a more invasive procedure that results in a much longer incision that will start at the buttock crease and continue over the side of the abdomen, over the flank, and across the back. The buttocks can be lifted with either upper or lower scars.
All surgery can be dangerous. However, risks will vary from patient to patient and it is important to discuss these in advance with your surgeon. While some minor complications can take place during a thigh-buttock lift procedure (uncommonly), major complications are very unusual.
Thigh/Buttock Lift Recuperation and Healing
The healing process for a thigh or buttock lift will be different for every person. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Freeman will meet with you privately during your personal consultation and will help you understand exactly what you can expect in terms of recovery time. For most patients, a compression garment is placed around the treated area following the surgery in order to reduce swelling and encourage a tightening of the skin. If your procedure is minor in nature, pain can usually be controlled with over the counter medications. However, if you have a more invasive procedure, you may need to spend one or two nights in a medical facility under professional care to manage pain and mobility. Most bruising and swelling should be gone a month after the procedure and most normal (even strenuous) activities can be resumed within 6 weeks of the surgery.
Thigh/Buttock Lift and Other Surgical Options
Depending on your particular body type and aesthetic goals, The Woodlands thigh-buttock lift surgeons at The Freeman Center for Plastic Surgery may recommend an alternative procedure or an additional procedure, such as liposuction / liposculpture, breast enlargement or tummy tuck (Abdominoplasty).
Thigh/Buttock Lift Insurance Guidelines
These procedures are typically considered cosmetic by most insurance companies and are, therefore, not covered by insurance policies. As such, a patient is responsible for covering the entirety of his or her bill.
