Brow Lift (FOREHEAD LIFT)

Do people ask you why you look so tired or angry? When you look in the mirror do you see eyelids that droop and a forehead with excess wrinkles that create those dreaded frown lines? A Forehead Lift, also known as a Brow Lift, is a procedure typically undergone by patients who are displeased with the deep creases on their foreheads, droopy lateral hoods, sagging eyebrows, and frown or scowl lines between the eyebrows.

At The Freeman Center for Plastic Surgery in the Woodlands we have spent the last twenty-five years studying the effects of aging on the face and have developed many advanced noninvasive techniques for slowing and even reversing the signs of aging of the face. Under the direction of experienced board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Freeman we can help you look years younger and erase some of the damage that time, genetics, and the environment have done to your forehead and eye brows utilizing the latest Brow Lift procedures.

Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) Facts

A Forehead Lift procedure is relatively noninvasive and is therefore typically done on an outpatient basis under either local or general anesthesia. During this type of surgery, incisions are usually made behind the hairline, in an effort to hide future scarring as much as possible. For patients with high foreheads, however, the incisions may be placed in front of the hairline.

Once incisions have been made, the skin is undermined and repositioned in various stages, which results in a "lift" of the forehead. The skin is then fixed in place, leaving the patient with a new and taut look. As one of the leading plastic surgeons in the Woodlands Dr. Freeman can help you lift your brows and reduce the heavy lines on your forehead with a brow lift procedure.
Incision lines from a Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) are generally concealed within the hair or natural contours of the face. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are unusual.

Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) Recuperation and Healing

After the surgery has been completed, the patient is sent home with his or her head wrapped in protective dressings. These bandages are usually removed one or two days after surgery. The sutures or staples on the forehead holding the skin together are generally removed within 10 days after the procedure.
The patient may experience some initial discomfort after the operation, but this may be easily controlled with oral pain medication. The patient may also see swelling and bruising during the healing period, but this generally disappears within 7-10 days. Patients may return to work and other normal routines after the healing process.

Additional Options to Consider With Your Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Patients may opt to undergo additional procedures in order to enhance their Forehead Lift results. These operations include lower and/or upper eyelid lift, face lift, laser resurfacing, other facial procedures, cosmetic fillers or facial implants.
