The Woodlands Neck Liposuction Surgeons

If you are displeased with localized areas of excess fat on or around your neck, you may be an ideal candidate for liposuction of the neck. While liposuction surgery of any kind is not recommended as a solution to overall weight loss problems, when a buildup of fat occurs in one particular area, such as the neck, liposuction may be an appropriate and beneficial way to deal with the problem.

The Woodlands neck liposuction surgeons at The Freeman Center for Aesthetic Surgery are here to provide you with the consultation you need to determine if liposuction of the neck is right for you. We can counsel you on this procedure or may recommend an alternative procedure that will provide the best solution to your problem.

Our Personal Consultation

Liposuction of the neck will not have the same results for every patient and so it is important that you schedule a consultation with one of our plastic surgeons who can advise you on what results you can expect from this procedure.

The Woodlands neck liposuction surgeons at The Freeman Center for Aesthetic Surgery will discuss your goals with you and will help you determine what a liposuction of the neck procedure can do for you.

How Will My Plastic Surgeon Evaluate Me for Liposuction?

When you arrive for your consultation, you will need to come prepared and able to talk about your complete medical history. Any current or former medical conditions, procedures, surgeries, or medications are necessary for your plastic surgeon to be aware of before performing your procedure.

Additionally, your current weight, weight loss / gain history, and your future weight loss plans will be important to discuss with your plastic surgeon. Future Weight Loss or Gain Can affect your neck liposuction procedure, and as such, it is necessary to discuss this.

Finally, the elasticity of your skin will need to be evaluated, and your surgeon will determine exactly how much fat will be removed during the procedure.

How Liposuction is Performed

In a liposuction procedure, a small hollow tube known as a cannula is inserted through one or more tiny incisions. These cuts are typically no larger than one-quarter inch long, and are designed to be as inconspicuous as possible.

The cannula is connected to a vacuum pressure unit that vacuums fat away from the area under the surgeon’s guidance.

What Are Some Variations to the Liposuction Technique?

In most liposuction procedures, fluid is inserted into the area that will be treated prior to the procedure. However, this step may be passed over in "dry" procedures. In a “tumescent” procedure, larger amounts of fluid are inserted than usual.

Additionally, the type of instrument used for the procedure may vary, as well as the layer of skin from which the fat is removed. The Woodlands neck liposuction surgeons at The Freeman Center for Aesthetic Surgery will discuss which procedure is right for you during your pre-procedure consultation.
